The Alabama Affiliation of Faculty Boards introduced their short checklist of MPS superintendent candidates at a exclusive Montgomery County Board of Schooling Conference Tuesday night.
Of the five finalists, 3 are presently serving as superintendents. A person is operating in Alabama.
Dr. James Wright, from the Alabama Association of University Boards, offered the five finalists to the board:
Dr. Avis Williams, superintendent at Selma Metropolis Universities in Alabama
Dr. Melvin Brown, superintendent at Reynoldsburg City Faculties in Ohio
Dr. Anthony Lewis, superintendent at Lawrence General public Educational institutions in Kansas
Dr. Marla Sheppard, deputy main of academics at KIPP General public Faculties, a charter faculty community in Texas
Dr. Donald Warren, deputy superintendent at Griffin-Spalding County Universities in Ga
The subsequent public meeting of the superintendent research will function finalist interviews at George Washington Carver Senior Substantial College, said Claire Weil, president of the School . The open up interviews are envisioned to be at 6 p.m. on March 28, March 31, April 4, April 5 and April 7. She claimed she hopes the public will show up at the conferences.
“I really hope that, if any individual commits to coming, they will arrive to all 5 of them,” she stated. “So that they see what is out there.”
