San Antonio school districts opening free lunch applications

[ad_1]

As San Antonio parents are gearing up for the next school year and snatching up school supplies, some will have to apply for the free or reduced meals program after a change to the pandemic-era waiver that provided free meals regardless of income status. Here’s what you need to know.

At least three school districts in San Antonio, including the largest, have started reminding parents that changes to pandemic-era free meal waiver and income limits means they must fill out the applications for free or reduced cost meals. The districts that have already started the application process are Northside ISD and Northeast ISD

Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD indicates on its website that the online application for the new school year will open soon.

San Antonio school districts that offer free meals to students are under the Community Eligibility Provision and don’t have to apply. Those districts are Southwest ISD, South San Antonio ISD, San Antonio ISD, East Central ISD, and Southside ISD.
