Seven Princeton faculty elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Princeton faculty associates David Bell, Nancy Bermeo, Jonathan Cohen, Bo Honoré, Sabine Kastner, Yiyun Li and Daniel Rubenstein have been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Also elected are Miguel Gutierrez, going to lecturer in dance in the Lewis Heart for the Arts Patricia Smith, visiting professor in imaginative writing in the Lewis Center for the Arts and Marian Croak, a member of Princeton’s Class of 1977 and vice president of engineering at Google.

They are between far more than 261 leaders in academia, the arts, company, federal government and public affairs elected this year in their respective fields.

David Bell

Bell is the Sidney and Ruth Lapidus Professor in the Era of North Atlantic Revolutions, professor of record, and director of the Shelby Cullom Davis Center for Historic Reports. He is a historian of early present day France, with a particular curiosity in the political tradition of the Aged Regime and the French Revolution.

Nancy Bermeo

Bermeo is a professor of politics, emeritus, and a Princeton Institute for Intercontinental and Regional Studies senior scholar. She writes on the leads to and consequences of political mobilization and routine change as nicely as the good quality of democracy.

Jonathan Cohen

Cohen is the Robert Bendheim and Lynn Bendheim Thoman Professor in Neuroscience, professor of psychology and neuroscience, and co-director of the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. Bo Honoré

Daniel Rubenstein

Rubenstein is the Course of 1877 Professor of Zoology, and professor of ecology and evolutionary biology. His research focuses on conclusion-creating in animals. He scientific tests how an individual’s foraging, mating and social actions are motivated by its phenotype, by ecological situations, and by the steps of other persons in the population.
